Windsurfing in Ireland has under a total transformation over the past 2 years, with the Irish Slalom Series (ISS) putting easy, friendly & open competition back into Irish Windsurfing.  With 2 very successful years under its belt, the 3rd year in 2010 promises to be every bit as exciting!

 

 

New to the Irish Slalom Series this year is the use of GPS units to record the racers tracks and speed during the races.  It starts off a trial basis, but this technology has been used in racing yachts to great extent, allowing boats to see their paths, examine for wind shifts, compare speeds.  It also assists the race marshals in resolving "right of way" and over the line issues.
